Shana Christrup, MPH is Vice President of Health Policy. Before joining Hart Health Strategies, Ms. Christrup served as Health Policy Director for the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP Committee). In that capacity, Ms. Christrup provided advice and guidance to Chairman Mike Enzi (R-WY) on key health issues before the HELP Committee. Prior to that, Ms. Christrup was a Professional Staff Member on the HELP Committee and handled issues related to public health, including domestic HIV/AIDS, global health, women's health, obesity, cord blood, vaccines, and prevention efforts.
Prior to joining the HELP Committee, Ms. Christrup served as the Deputy Director of Legislation for the Washington Office of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Before joining CDC, Ms. Christrup was a health policy advisor to Senator Bill Frist, M.D. (R-TN) on the Subcommittee on Public Health of the Senate HELP Committee.
While at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Ms. Christrup's portfolio focused on patient safety. During her tenure at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of AIDS Research, Ms. Christrup examined issues relevant to a potential HIV/AIDS vaccine.
Ms. Christrup earned a Masters in Public Health with a focus of Health Policy and Administration from Yale University and a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Human Biology from Oxford University. She received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
